Chatham man charged after neighbour’s tires slashed, police say

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 69-year-old Chatham man has been charged with mischief after police say he damaged four tires on his neighbour’s vehicle.

Chatham-Kent police were called to an address on Michener Street on Wednesday at approximately 5:06 p.m. following reports of a mischief complaint.

Investigators determined a man had gone to his neighbour’s residence and damaged four tires on her vehicle, police said.

The accused was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He was taken to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was released on an undertaking with conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.
