The Wallaceburg and District Museum had a steady flow of traffic today (March 22) for their annual indoor garage sale.
Louise Benn, one of the organizers, said the event is a big fundraiser for the Museum.
“Everything that is on the stage has been donated to the Wallaceburg Museum and all the money stays right here to help us with the displays and everything that we need to do at the Museum,” she said. “We have a bake sale that all of our volunteers do all of the baking for us, we sell that to raise money.”
Benn said people from the community purchased tables for $15 in order for them to sell items as well.
“Sometimes the people will donate what they make back to the Museum,” she said.
A few people such as Carol Getts with Avon and Conrad Noel, who sells jewelry, donated items for their penny sale
“Everybody that is from Wallaceburg loves this Museum and wants to see it stay here,” Benn said. “We need volunteers, we need people that know how to do building, people that know how to do electrical work, plumbing, whatever.:
Benn said the Museum is on the verge of raising money for the installation of some new washrooms, which would cost about $40,000
“Anybody that can help, we need all the help we can get,” she said.
The event went from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Well, all the money save for one particular set of booths went towards the museum.
