We’re all famous in His eyes

From the Pastor’s Pen – By Brian Horrobin

When you think of the world of professional golf, is the first name that comes to your mind Bob May?

Me neither.

The fact is, Bob May wouldn’t even be a brief blink of resolution on a Google search if it wasn’t for the 2000 PGA Championship. It was at this pivotal event of professional golf’s elite that little-known Bob May took perennial champion, Tiger Woods, to the third hole of overtime before conceding defeat.

It was, in pop artist Andy Warhol’s words, Bob’s “fifteen minutes of fame.”

He never did much of anything on the PGA circuit after that historic day on the links, but for a short time he was hob-nobbing with the world’s greatest golfer.

People want their time in the spotlight and some will do anything to get it.

I have some good news for all of you regulars out there, though.

To God, you’re already special and famous in His eyes. God keeps such close tabs on you that the Bible says in Luke 12:7 that He has all the hairs of your head numbered.

Even the paparazzi don’t have that much info on you!

God isn’t overlooking you on the way to someone more famous.

He genuinely cares for each one of us, regardless of our status in society.

The Lord loves the hacker and the duffer just as much as He loves the Tiger Woods’ and Phil Mickelson’s of this world.

So don’t despair, God cares for you!
