Walpole Island woman faces a string of traffic charges

police-2

The Chatham-Kent police have charged a woman following a traffic stop in Wallaceburg last night.

Around 9:15 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed a woman driving her vehicle westbound on Dufferin Avenue.

The officer recognized the vehicle and believed that the licence plates were not registered to that vehicle.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and a query of the plates confirmed that they were indeed not registered.

The officer also learned that the vehicle was listed as unfit through the MTO and that the woman was driving with no insurance.

The 42-year-old Walpole Island woman was charged with driving a motor vehicle with no insurance and using plates not authorized for a vehicle. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
