Community Living Wallaceburg is hitting the road next month, delivering box lunches and awareness to hundreds of workplaces, schools, organizations and homes across Chatham-Kent.

The widely popular Box Lunch fundraiser, now in its 14th year, will take place on Thursday, May 1.

Dozens of volunteers will assemble, package and deliver approximately 1,600 lunches, and net proceeds will enhance services and supports to more than 400 individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families across the municipality.

“The Box Lunch is a great way to educate the public about the Agency’s services, supports and activities, while providing a delicious lunchtime meal to area businesses and people that continue to support us year after year, “ said Ron Laroche, Coordinator, Communications and Fund Development for Community Living Wallaceburg.

Available for $8, the Agency’s box lunches consist of three sandwich choices (Chicken Caesar, Ham and Swiss or Veggie and Cheddar Cheese) served on a fresh Kaiser bun, along with coleslaw, a piece of fruit, dessert and a beverage. Order forms are available at the Agency’s main office, 1100 Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg, online at www.getintocommunityliving.com or by calling 519-627-0777.

Lunches must be preordered no later than Tuesday, April 22.
