$73,000 drug bust in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Uniform Branch, executed a search warrant yesterday (April 3.)

Police officials say as a result, an estimated $73,000 worth of cannabis marijuana is off the street.

A 33-year old man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis marijuana.

He was released and faces a future court date.

A 30-year old female is facing trafficking charges as well.

She was released at the scene.

In addition to the marijuana seized, the Intelligence Section also seized an SUV, valued at approximately $10,000 as offence related property.

  1. I’m not so much against the use of marijuana as I am against illegal distribution. I would be happy to see it sold and taxed like alcohol, but I do have a problem with this story and arrest. It seems this young couple had for sale, a higher value of drugs then my combined earnings for a five year period, and I pay taxes on my income.
    I don’t like tax cheaters because it takes away from our social programs and medical care.
    What would be nice is if their names were published so we would know who in Wallaceburg can afford such a lucrative small business tax free.

    • That is NOT 73,000 worth of pot. What youre looking at is 3 grand worth tops, anyone who knows anything about weed will tell you the same. Cops love to exaggerate how much could be made from busts (they say 1 plant is worth anywhere between 1-10 thousand)
