WAMBO is shaking things up

CK Wallaceburg WAMBO Classic Cars

Some changes are coming to the WAMBO committee this year.

Check out this letter sent by the WAMBO committee:

Extending our appreciation as the WAMBO AGM marks changes in command.

The 2014 WAMBO committee would like to thank the 2013 committee for all it’s hard work and dedication in continuing to make WAMBO a successful and dynamic event.

Effective as of the WAMBO AGM in March we are thrilled to have some new faces join the group of Managers while others depart as well as having some new members elected to the Board of Directors.

We’d like to convey a huge thank you to Janet Gregory O’Mara for her unwavering leadership as WAMBO Chairman over the past 3 years. As Chair Janet focused her attention on continuing improvements, expanding awareness, and showcasing Wallaceburg and WAMBO to all of Chatham-Kent and beyond.

Janet has accepted the role of Treasurer on the Board of Directors, replacing Lynn Poissant. Thank you Lynn for your diligence and commitment in keeping WAMBO in a financially positive position – a very challenging task which is often not the most popular.

We’d also like to thank Neale Cofell as he retires from his many years dedicated as Manager of Boats, one of WAMBO’s core displays.

WAMBO welcomes Bill Wolsing as the new WAMBO Chairman. Bill has been a long time committee member filling the roles of both Entertainment and Vendors Manager.

We all look forward to WAMBO 2014 with its staple of familiar antique displays featuring boats, cars, fire trucks, toys and tractors, plus art, crafts, parades, food, music, entertainment and more.

We’re sure new or resurrected venues and displays will be just as exciting as in the past and surely enhance the WAMBO experience for all.

The WAMBO committee meets monthly throughout the entire year with preparations for WAMBO 2014 already well underway. All WAMBO Board of Directors and Managers are volunteer positions. Thank you to all committee members for your selfless service to the Wallaceburg and area community!

Committee members are currently needed to cover several of the WAMBO venues, as well as volunteers wanting to help out either on a regular basis or occasional basis. In either case we’d love to hear from you! Please contact one of our committee members, or email to info@wambo.ca for more information.

On behalf of the entire WAMBO committee,

Thank you all!
