Wallaceburg man charged for having break-in tools

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an incident in Wallaceburg early this morning.

Around 1:15 a.m. a citizen contacted police to report that they had witnessed a young person enter an apartment complex on Wallace Street through a laundry room window then open a door to allow the man to enter the building.

Officers attended the area and located both suspects.

The man was found to be possession of bolt cutters, pry bar and drill.

Officers further learned that the man was currently bound by release conditions stating that he was to reside at either a specific Chatham or Thamesville address.

The 16-year-old female youth was taken home.

The 20-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with being in possession of break-in instruments and failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
