Storm downs power lines, uproots trees, see pics

The storm on Saturday night created quite a mess across the community and caused damage on a variety of properties.

Around 6,000 Hydro One customers were without power since last night, with many people getting power back by 4 p.m. today.

One Port Lambton resident said they were without power for about 18 hours.

According to the Hydro One website, Some residents on Walpole Island, Dresden, Port Lambton and Sombra are still without power.

Estimated restoration time is 1 a.m. tomorrow (Monday, April 14.)

The Sydenham Current took a cruise around the community and spotted several uprooted trees, yards littered with branches, and Hydro One crews fixing downed power lines.
