On April 16, 2014, just before 2:00 a.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers stopped a Ford car on Highway 40 at Electric Line.

While officers were speaking with the driver, a 27 year old from Windsor, it was determined that she had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Subsequent tests indicated that the driver was over the legal limit and she will appear in a Chatham court on May 9, 2014, to answer to the charge of Driving With More Than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.

Chatham-Kent OPP would like to remind drivers that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. If you consume alcoholic beverages, plan for a safe ride home by using a designated driver, a taxi or public transit to ensure that you and others sharing the road arrive safely.
