It is a day for action, not for sitting back

In the 1989 movie, “Dead Poets Society”, Robin Williams plays English Prof. John Keating, who inspires his students at Welton Academy to overcome their reluctance to make changes in their lives.

Of the myriad of things he teaches them, there is one that stands out to me:”Carpe, carpe diem, seize the day boys, make your lives extraordinary.”

Someone once said, “If you always do what you always did, you’ll always get what you always got.” In other words, greatness and progress lies beyond the realm of the routine.

Today is a new day.

It is a day for action, not for sitting back and letting others do all the work.

Attempt something you might not dare to do otherwise.

Spring is a time of change and maybe that’s what you need to do.

Change your choice of breakfast cereals, change your clothing preference, change your workout routine… whatever!

It doesn’t have to be continental drift.

Just mix it up a little and see what happens.

You might be pleasantly surprised.
