Domestic call on Dufferin leads to charges

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman following a domestic disturbance in Wallaceburg yesterday.

Shortly after 12:00 p.m. police responded to an assault complaint on Dufferin Avenue.

Upon the officer’s arrival, a man reported that he had been punched, kicked, bitten and stabbed in the arm with a small pair of scissors by his common-law girlfriend during an argument.

The 23-year-old man required medical attention for the injury to his arm.

Just before 1:00 p.m. police located the woman and she was arrested.

The 20-year-old Wallaceburg woman has been charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
