This coming Wednesday (May 14) is the annual NAPA Tool and Equipment event at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham.

Dave Elliott, the event organizer, said the event has primarily been aimed at their wholesale, garage and dealership clientele, but they are also welcoming their retail customers or “do-it-yourselfers.

“We’re encouraging them to come to a more visible location at the Bradley Centre. In the past we’ve had these in the parking lots of our stores, or in a club close to the store. We’re inviting all of our customers to come from all of our stores.”

Elliott said there will be a wide-range of products in display, and for sale, at the event.

“All of our tool and equipment vendors bring there automotive, service and diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, air compressors, they bring them to the Bradley Centre with the manufacturer reps, so if you’re wanting to buy any of these items or if you want to know more about them, you can come to the Bradley Centre and talk to experts,” he said. “In a lot of cases you can see the equipment you’re going to be purchasing, but you have an expert there that you can consult to make sure that piece of equipment is the right piece of equipment for you.”

Elliott said there will be tools and equipment there for people who work on vehicles at home.

“If you do work on your own vehicle, then all of it is going to apply, some of the hand tools, power tools, air compressors, things like that are things that anyone who works on there car and has a garage needs.”

Elliott said people can buy items at the show, they can set the price at the show, they can apply for a lease at the show.

“They cant take it home from the show, they have to pick it up at the store,” he said. “We take the orders at the show, the orders arrive at NAPA, and when they arrive here at our store, we’ll call you and you can come pick it up and pay for it.”

A full range of NAPA experts will be on hand, Elliott said.

“Our manufacturer for our auto parts lines, our dedicated sales reps for under-car, chassis, brakes, heating and cooling, electrical and under hood specialists,” he said. “All of our product specialists will be there also. They have all their newest parts and all there newest information available there. In some cases there are new product lines they have taken on they we want everybody to know about.”

Elliott said there will also be representation from the NAPA paint and body shop side as well.

“We’ll have reps from Axalta Coating Systems, formerly DuPont Performance Coatings, Norton, 3M, all the body shop lines that a body shops would want to see there, but also anybody that does any body work at home, or anybody that does work on there car, it’s good information to have.”

The event runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the 565 Richomond Street location in Chatham.

There will be prizes and also a FREE barbecue as well.
