May 2-4 holiday weekend openings/closures

Municipal offices and most services will be CLOSED Monday, May 19, 2014 in recognition of Victoria Day.

SERVICES ON THE VICTORIA DAY HOLIDAY

· Memorial Arena and Thames Campus Arena are open for scheduled bookings. All other arenas are closed.

· Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool are open Saturday and Sunday with their regular schedules, and are closed Monday, May 19.

· Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Ridge House Museum, and Milner Heritage House will be open Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. The Cultural Centre Box Office will be closed on the holiday Monday.

· RM Classic Car Exhibit and Visitor Information Centre will be open Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. but closed Sunday and Monday.

· All branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will be closed Monday, May 19 for Victoria Day. Regular business hours will resume Tuesday, May 20.

· CK Transit services will not be operating with the exception of Seasonal Interurban Transit Route S1 serving Chatham, Erieau and Mitchell Bay with stops in Grande Point, Pain Court, Charing Cross and Blenheim. This route starts this Friday May 16 and operates every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday including Victoria Day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

· Garbage/recycling collection services for the week of May 19 to May 23 will be moved back one day. Please refer to the 2013-2014 Residential Recycling and Waste Collection Calendar for details.

· The Harwich Transfer Station, Wallaceburg Transfer Station and Chatham Leaf and Yard Depot will be closed on Monday, May 19. All other transfer stations will be open regular hours.

· The Health and Family Services building will be closed on the holiday Monday, including offices of Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Children’s Services and Public Health.

· Essential after-hours Public Health services are available by calling 1-866-446-8207.

· Clinic Services, located at 177 King St. E., Chatham will be closed on the holiday Monday.

· May Court and Wallaceburg Childcare Learning Centres will be closed.

· Riverview Gardens Long Term Care Home – visiting hours will continue as normal but administrative offices will be closed.

· Emergency Services – Police, Fire and Ambulance are operational 24 hours a day every day and are accessible by dialing “911” for emergency calls only.
