Heartbreak for Tartans in boys and girls soccer

The Wallaceburg Tartans endured two tough losses yesterday in both boys and girls Kent High School soccer playoff action.

Senior Girls Semi-Final

C-K 1 – Wallaceburg 0

The C-K Golden Hawks broke a scoreless tie, eight minutes into overtime with a goal by Brooke Armstrong.

This capped off a 1-0 semi-final win for C-K.

The shut out was recorded by Britt McLaren, and the CKSS player of the game was Jesse Chinnick.

The player of the game was not on the game sheet for Wallaceburg.

C-K will now face UCC in the Kent final, after the Pines topped McGregor 3-0 in the other semi-final.

Senior Boys Semi-Final

C-K 2 – Wallaceburg 1

Kevin Kellet scored for the Tartans, but it wasn’t enough.

C-K got goals from Tyrone Mulder and Trevor Niven in the victory.

The Golden Hawks will now move on to the finals to face UCC, who were 6-0 winners over Pain Court in the other semi-final match.
