The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man and charged him with attempted murder in connection with a disturbance earlier this week in Wallaceburg.
On Tuesday, May 20, 2014 just before 12:30 a.m. police responded to an altercation between two men known to each other at a residence on Dufferin Avenue. A 19 year-old Walpole Island man was transported to the Sydenham District Hospital with life threatening head injuries. He has since been transferred to a hospital in London where he remains in critical condition.
This morning, a 20 year-old Walpole Island man was arrested. He has been charged with attempt murder. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police continue to investigate.
