James Thomas Yazbeck, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at Fairfield Park on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the age of 90.

Jim is the son of the late Latouf & Anna (Bachus) Yazbeck.

Beloved husband of 54 years to Salwa “Sally” (Maatuk) Yazbeck. Loving father of John, Rose-Marie (Tim Gielen), James Jr., Elizabeth (John Oliveira) and Odette (Tom Kuchyt).

Dear grandfather of Zoe, Brenner, Yolla, Jessica, James, Bailey, Colby, Chet and Sarah and great grandfather of Brock.

Brother of Helen Simoneau and the late Edward, Charles, Simon, Paul, Joseph and John Yazbeck, Adele Saad and Josephine Hanna.

A WWII veteran, Jim began his career at Hazzards when he was 16 and continued there for 24 years before working at Gordons Supermarket for another 24.

He was the consummate family man‎ who brightened many lives and touched many hearts.

He loved to fish, sing and play his harmonica -sometimes all at once! His love of baseball culminated in his induction into the Wallaceburg Sports Hall of Fame.

He enjoyed helping his community and was respected and adored by many.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Thursday.

The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Friday, June 6 at 10:30 AM. Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
