A former Wallaceburg resident is starting to fill up, but she is still taking appointments for the month of July.
Brittany Fish, B.A., J.D., is set to prepare wills and power of attorney documents while she is home in Wallaceburg.
“I do the mobile services mainly because right now I’m living in a city,” Fish said. “I found booking appointments and time slots has been very hard because either the commute across Ottawa takes a very long time, so it is hard to set up a specific timing. People are at work and they can’t get to you on time, or they are working late. A lot of people have children, so they don’t want to bring their kids to the office.”
Fish said she’ll be bringing her mobile services to Wallaceburg this July.
“I setup the mobile services because I found my biggest clientele is younger people with children or elderly people who are not mobile enough to come to your office,” she said. “I can do consults over the phone to save from interrupting and doing two trips. So the first consult I’ll do over the phone and the second trip I’ll actually come and meet with the clients.”
Fish added: “It’s worked out better that way, it’s a little more convenient. People seem to appreciate it more because I can come into the comfort of their own home. If clients are not comfortable with it, we can set up a mutually convenient location, either at a coffee shop or somewhere else a little more private.”
Fish said she brings everything she needs wherever she goes.
“I set up everything mobile: my printer, a scanner, and then I bring my laptop with me,” she said. “Everything can be done wherever they choose and it is just a little more convenient that way. I’ve done bed side wills, at nursing homes, I’ve gone to peoples office after work, sat down on their lunch hours to meet with them.”
