Wallaceburg teen donates her locks

A Wallaceburg teenager has chopped off her hair to help lift the spirits of someone in need.

Raini Chauvin, 17, got her long hair cut in support of the Locks of Love Foundation.

“I wanted to help for Relay For Life and to better someone else’s life,” she said. “I had wanted to donate before, but I could never grow my hair out long enough, and so I decided well, I don’t need my hair, and I’m sure all those people who have to go through that lose a lot of self esteem. To bring it back for them, I gave them beautiful long hair.”

Chauvin said she has also gathered just over $1,300 in donations as well, which was given to the Canadian Cancer Society.
