DMS, PURE dancers shine at Disney World

Submitted by Jenn Vink

Local dancers from Wallaceburg, Dresden, Walpole Island, Blenheim and Chatham got the chance of a lifetime over the Canada Day weekend.

21 dancers from the Debbie McGonigle School of Dance in Wallaceburg and 14 from Pure in Chatham danced at Walt Disney World in the festival Dance The World.

They performed in a night parade in Hollywood Studios to the song Dancing In The street, complete with glowing costumes and ruby red sparkle shoes provided by Disney on June 30th and on stage in Hollywood Studios on Canada Day.

This was followed by a VIP gala party and a private viewing of Illuminations at The Epcot Centre.

The local dancers joined others from Canada, USA, and Mexico!

The dancers, under the guidance of Debbie McGonigle, have been working hard all year for this trip and it went perfect and magical.

From being backstage at Disney to celebrating at the gala, they represented Chatham-Kent with pride.

We would all like to thank all the people and businesses of Chatham-Kent that supported our fundraising efforts.

This could never have happened without you.

And thanks to Debbie for everything over the past year!
