The investigation is on-going in St. Clair Township, after a stolen pick-up truck was found abandoned in the area of Mandaumin Road and Bickford Line.

Police are still scouring the area for a possible suspect, who also broke into a house on Mandaumin Road while the owner was sitting watching TV.

“I was just sitting in the house and someone tried getting in,” Corey Kinny told the Sydenham Current. “I just chased him out and then I called the cops.”

Kinny said he came face-to-face with the intruder.

“I said what are you doing in here and he said I’m just trying to get away from the cops,” he said. “I said, well you can get out of here. He said he wanted a drink of water. I said well you can keep going. Then I called the cops because he came right in the house.”

Police officials stated a pick-up truck that had been reported as stolen from within the City of Sarnia was spotted by Lambton Ontario Provincial Police just before 9 a.m. today (July 29.)

Police say the truck was spotted southbound on Waterworks Road at Courtright Line but fled the area.

Subsequently after 11 a.m. the stolen pick-up truck was located.

A search of that area by Lambton OPP and the West Region Canine Unit was completed however the suspect was not located.

Kinny said police were in the area all day.

“They’re just taking pictures because he tried breaking into the shed too,” Kinny said. “They were going around telling everyone to close their doors. We’ll see if they get him or not. There were like 15 cars here earlier.

More to come.
