I received a very disturbing and unsolicited e-mail message recently that escaped the clutches of my spam filter.
The subject line was “Life is short. Have an affair.”
It advertised a web site that boasted 13 million members with a new one joining every few seconds.
It offered solace and solicitation for those who were bored in their marriage and wanted a discreet tryst.
Someone, please, hand me the barf bucket!
There was a time in the not so distant past that the public would be appalled at such crass seduction.
Couples have enough obstacles to deal with these days without all out attacks from a sick organization claiming to be the saviour of unsatisfactory marriages.
God’s Word has strong advice for fidelity in marriage and a stern warning for breaching it.
In Hebrews 13:2 it says, “Let marriage be held in high honour among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.”
Marriage is a wonderful gift from God for a man and a woman to share and enjoy, so let me give a shout out to all the married couples out there today to stay committed to your spouse!
It is so worth it!
It has God’s lasting blessing and that beats any short-term thrill of an illicit affair any day!
