Mildred Hazel Bruce of Wallaceburg

imageMildred Hazel Bruce, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at Fairfield Park on Tuesday August 5, 2014 at the age of 93.

Mildred was the eldest daughter of the late Willard and Hazel (Wood) Card.

Beloved wife of 69 years to the late Douglas Bruce.

Loving mother of Aurilla Ripley (Charles) of Mossley, Sheila Ripley (Kenneth) of Melbourne, and Keith Bruce (Elizabeth) of Thamesville.

Caring grandmother to Kevin Ripley (Katrina), Heather Ripley (Darryl Hall), Brian Ripley, Janet Wiper (Paul), Neil Ripley (Heike Horn), Linda Ripley (Andrew Cowan), Kristine Bruce, Peter Bruce (Megan), Ian Bruce (Heather), and David Bruce.

Adoring great grandmother to 16.

Sister of Betty Bumpus of London, and the late Ilene Routley, Doris Wardell, Ross Card, and Marian Persyn.

Sister-in-law to Betty Card.

Survived by a large extended family.

Mildred was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church.

She was also a supporter of the Wallaceburg Museum, Meals on Wheels, Sydenham Hospital Auxiliary, and Women`s Missionary Society.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 7-9 PM on Friday.

The Funeral will be celebrated at Knox Presbyterian Church Saturday August 9 at 11 AM with visiting 1 hour prior to service at the church.

Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

If desired, remembrances to the Women`s Mission at Knox Presbyterian, Sydenham Hospital Auxiliary, or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home.
