An announcement can be expected soon for who will be Chatham-Kent’s new chief financial officer.

With the pending spring retirement of Gerry Wolting, general manager of corporate services, C-K has been on the hunt for a person to fill one of the roles Wolting has been filling – the CFO position.

Don Shropshire, the chief administrative officer for C-K, told council at the Monday night meeting that a person has been chosen.

“We’ve been able to secure a great candidate,” Shropshire said. “We’ll have an announcement tomorrow.”

Shropshire told the Sydenham Current back in May about the shake-up taking place with C-K’s senior financial positions: Financial leadership positions being realigned

Shropshire said at Monday’s council meeting that it was important for the new CFO to be able to work side-by-side with Wolting for a full budget process, before he retires in the spring.
