Wallaceburg’s Seth Griffith made his pre-season debut Wednesday night with the Boston Bruins.

Griffith was matched up on the top line with Bruin’s veterans Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, in the 2-0 Bruins win.

Sporting number 53 for Boston, Griffith had 16 minutes and 38 seconds of ice time, recording two shots in his debut.

Griffith was close to scoring his first goal of the pre-season as well.

“Good pressure by Marchand-Bergeron-Griffith,” read a tweet sent out by the official Bruins Twitter account. “… (& a rebound chance from Griffith) in the attacking zone…”

Griffith said he was excited and nervous at the same time before the game.

“Yeah, it’s pretty exciting, I haven’t played a preseason game yet so I’m excited to get the first one under my belt and I’m looking forward to it,” Griffith said in a Boston Bruins press release. “The first couple of shifts, I’ll probably be pretty nervous… but hopefully I can get the nerves out right away and just enjoy the experience.”

Griffith has also gotten great praise from the Bruins’ organization, including head coach Claude Julien.

“He’s shown good skills, he’s shown a lot of good things, so we’re excited to watch him play,” Julien said in a press release.

“Practices are different than games but so far in practice, he’s been really good,”Griffith’s linemate Brad Marchand said. “He see the ice very well, he’s very quick, very smart with the puck so he sees plays, is able to make them, and hopefully that will translate into the game tonight.”

Bruins will be on the road Friday night against the same Washington Capitals.
