$1.1 million worth of pot seized

Acting on information provided by the public along with the assistance of aerial reconnaissance, the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Unit and Community Patrol Branch along with Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers conducted marijuana eradication over the past several days.

Officers checked corn fields throughout the municipality and seized 1,160 mature marihuana plants, worth approximately $1.1 million dollars for destruction.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service and Chatham-Kent Crime Stoppers continue to welcome any information from the public regarding illegal marihuana grow sites.
