Oxygen masks for pets campaign launched

Pet And Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) is on a new mission to help protect animals by purchasing oxygen masks for pets for Chatham-Kent’s fire department.

The group’s goal is to raise enough funds, approximately $2,000, to buy a set of masks for each and every truck in Chatham-Kent, 19 in total.

By doing so PAWR hopes to save more lives when tragedy occurs.

Chatham-Kent is home to a large number of animal lovers and their pets are considered family.

Many fire departments in North America are already equipped with these masks and PAWR is looking forward to provide the same tools to our local firefighters.

The group is kicking off the campaign with a barbecue in front of PetSmart in Chatham this Saturday Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A fire truck and firefighters will be present to support this cause.
