Wallaceburg tops Wheatley in a shootout

The Wallaceburg Lakers are winners of two of their last tree games, after topping WHeatley 4-3 in a shootout last night in Wallaceburg.

Mike Kindrachuk scored a powerplay goal in the first for the Lakers with assists from Matt Clark and Lucais Meyskens.

Brock Daugherty also scored an unassisted goal in the first period.

Lucais Meyskens scored in the third period, with assists going to Trevor Waller and Jacob Theoret.

Wheatley stormed back tying the up with two goals in the final minute of play in the third period.

However, the Lakers refused to let go of the momentum.

Matt Clark, Cory Lucier and Frankie White all scored in the shootout to hang on to the win.

Joel Sowinski made 29 saves in the win.

Wallaceburg will travel to Lakeshore on Saturday in their next contest.
