St. Clair Catholic enrolment grows for fourth straight year to 9,644 students

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board welcomed 9,644 students at the start of the 2026-27 school year, the fourth consecutive year of increased enrolment.

Opening enrolment numbers were presented to trustees at the Oct. 27 board meeting. Since 2022, elementary schools have added 422 students and secondary schools have added 492. Since 2016, total enrolment has increased by 859 students, or nearly 10 per cent. The board says projections show enrolment continuing to rise over the next 10 years.

“Steady enrolment growth allows us to strategically plan with confidence and keep investing in our schools,” said Amy Park, the board’s CFO, COO and treasurer. “We are grateful for the confidence that families across Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton continue to place in our schools and we are proud to serve students in every one of our communities.”

The board says opening enrolment is a snapshot in time and typically fluctuates through the year.
