It was a fun and frightful night on Saturday at the Wallaceburg and District Museum.
Louise Benn, a volunteer at the Museum, said there were 199 kids and adults in attendance at the first ‘Haunted Museum’ of the season.
“We had about 20 volunteers here and those volunteers were fantastic,” she said. “Everything went fantastic. We could not do it if it wasn’t for the volunteers. Mitch and Michelle, our curator and assistant curator, they put this whole place together. They did a wonderful job, but if it wasn’t for the volunteers, we wouldn’t have it.”
Benn said many people in attendance were “scared” while walking through the display, located throughout the Museum.
“The best one, that I heard an awful lot of complaints about was this clown… he scared the day lights out of everybody,” she said.
For the younger kids, not wanting to get frightened, there was a movie aired and costume contest held in the theatre.
The event will be held again on Saturday – Oct. 25 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“There is going to be judging at 7 p.m. for costumes, there is a first and second prize,” Benn said. “I have Sheldon Parsons, Guy Benn and Joe Myers are going to be here and they are going to judge the costumes. The movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
Benn said candy apples, popcorn and pop will be for sale at the event.
Cost to attend the Haunted Museum is $3 per person.
