The WAMBO committee is hoping the Municipality of Chatham-Kent can do something to fix up a centralized location for Wallaceburg’s biggest annual event.
Citing a letter written by WAMBO chair Bill Wolsing, Wallaceburg Coun. Jeff Wesley said during tonight’s council meeting that the downtown parking lot on James Street in Wallaceburg is in rough shape.
“That parking lot has a lot of wear and tear,” Wesley said.
This location is vital to WAMBO, which is annually a great success for the community of Wallaceburg, Wesley added.
He said tripping hazards in the parking lot for people walking is also a concern.
Wesley said the WAMBO committee is hoping the Municipality can look into fixing the parking lot up before next summers event and investigate the possibility of resurfacing the lot.
Wesley requested that staff look into the concerns.
WAMBO 27 is slated to take place Aug. 7,8 and 9.
