Dresden’s Chris Clements is currently in Sydney, Australia preparing for Friday’s UFC Fight Night.

Clements will be battling Vik Grujic in a welterweight match, during the preliminaries of the fight card, starting around 6:30 p.m Eastern time.

The 38-year-old Clements was featured on the UFC website this week, in an article written by Mike Straka.

“I think people have finally realized that training camp is not the time to increase your skill,” he said in the article.

“Training camps are for getting in shape to go to war for three to five rounds, depending on the fight. So many fighters now understand they don’t need to do the extreme sparring that causes damage to the body. Working on your fitness is the main point of training camp, and maybe fine tuning the things that already make you successful. I’ve been a lot smarter as I’ve gotten older.”

This will be Clements’ first fight back in the UFC after injuring himself prior to a KO loss against Stephen Thomson.

Clements tore his ACL while warming up backstage for the fight.

Overall, Clements is 1-1 in the UFC with one no contest.

In his professional career, he sports a 11-5-0 record.
