A new name has been selected for Wallaceburg’s brand new Senior ‘B’ lacrosse team.
The team will be known as – The Wallaceburg Satans.
“The Satans moniker comes from the storied history of Wallaceburg lacrosse,” read a post on the teams Facebook page. “Dating back to the 1970’s Wallaceburg had two teams — the senior Red Devils and the junior Satans. Now, more than 40 years later, it only seems fitting to revisit the storied history of lacrosse in Wallaceburg.”
The team has also launched a contest for inspiration on a new logo.
The Satans are inviting anyone to e-mail team president Steve Lilley at slilley@wallaceburglacrosse.com with their ideas.
“Your idea can be sketches, a detailed description, or completed design,” the teams Facebook page read. “When submitting a design, keep in mind that we are going with red, white and black for the team colours. We will be accepting logo designs and ideas until Nov. 12 at 5 p.m.”
The winner will receive four season passes to the 2015 inaugural season.
Wallaceburg Lacrosse announced last month that the Sarnia Beavers lacrosse club would no longer be continuing operations and would be moving their organization to Wallaceburg.
