Oscar William Delanghe, a resident of Grande Pointe, died peacefully at the Chatham hospital on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the age of 85.
Oscar is the son of Cesar Aloedor Marcus & Magdalena (Mortier) Delanghe.
Beloved husband of Stella (Waterschoot). Loving father of Mark Delanghe (Arlene) of Wallaceburg and Marlene Delanghe (Richard Hamaura) of Vancouver.
Dear grandfather of Peter and Paul. Brother of Zoe Emery, Laura Ruysseveldt (Bill) and the late Leon Delanghe and Edna Leclair.
Oscar was a great dad and husband, a successful tobacco farmer on Winter Line, a voracious reader and history buff known as ‘the Unofficial Professor’.
He loved food and animals and will also be missed by his dog Missy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Monday.
The funeral will be celebrated at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 11 at 1:30 PM. If desired, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice may be left at the funeral home. 519.627.3231.
