Did you know that 64% of children have been bullied at school?

As a Police Service, that concerns us, so we initiated the ‘CKPS Anti-Bullying Video Contest’ to encourage safe schools and promote a healthy community.

This video contest was really an opportunity for the voices of our young people to be heard.

Chatham-Kent students from gr 6 – gr 12 were encouraged to participate. They were tasked with creating a video, no longer than 3 minutes that addressed the theme of ‘Stand Up & Speak Out.’

Thirteen video submissions were received and judged Friday afternoon based on numerous factors including their originality and overall message.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service is pleased to kick off “Bullying Awareness Week” by announcing our winner.

Congratulations to Andrea Crow of ESPC on winning our first ‘Anti-Bullying Video Contest.’ Andrea’s video can be seen here:

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank and congratulate everyone who submitted a video. They were all very creative and well done.

Our hope is that through the production of these videos, kids of all ages, here in Chatham-Kent and across the nation, realize the different types of bullying and how they can help someone in need.

All videos are available for viewing on our CKPSmedia You Tube Channel.

Please watch and share the message that if we “Stand Up & Speak Out” – Together We Can Make a Difference and Stop Bullying.
