It was the Wallaceburg Lakers and Dresden Kings show last night at the prospects game between the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League and the Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Dresden’s Ross Krieger got the Great Lakes squad off to a great in the first period, with a goal at the 14:04 mark.
Brock Daugherty and Brendan Ritchie, both of the Wallaceburg Lakers, assisted on Krieger’s goal, which proved to be the game winner in a 4-0 Great Lakes victory.
Dresden’s Derek Shaw provided some insurance for the Great Lakes with a goal at the 18:48 mark of the first period.
Daugherty picked up his second point of the night with a goal at the 7:38 mark of the second period. Ritchie got his second point as well, with an assist on the play.
The game was played Thursday night in Belle River.
It featured the top 16 and 17-year-old players from teams across the region.
