Higgs, Houston being honoured by Dresden Kings

The Dresden Kings will honouring two former players during their alumni night in Dresden Friday night (Jan. 2.)

Reg Higgs and Ken Houston will have banners with their name and number hanging from the rafters of Dresden Arena.

Higgs played for three seasons with the Kings in the 60s, and later enjoyed a 32-year coaching career including stints as an assistant coach in the NHL with the Rangers and Flyers.

Houston played one year with Dresden, before enjoying a nine-year NHL career with Atlanta, Calgary, Washington and LA.

The banner ceremony is being held before the Kings battle the Essex 73’s at 7:30 p.m.

A fish fry is also being held at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person.
