Mom’s baby cupboard receives a lift

James Street Ministry were one of four local groups in Wallaceburg to benefit from the latest wave of grants from the Chatham Kent Community Foundation and South Kent Wind.

The group was given $6,750 to go towards the mom’s baby cupboard and community meals program at the Wallaceburg church.

Carrol Gilbert, president of the Wallaceburg Adult Activity Centre, accepted the cheque on behalf of the group at a ceremony held just before Christmas.

In total, 19 Chatham-Kent charitable organizations received grants totalling $130,533 before the end of 2014.

The grants range in size from $3,000 to $20,000.
