Update: The Driver of the Chev Cavalier, an 18 years old Leamington man has been charged with Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
The name of the deceased will not be released at this time, until next of kin has been notified.
The name of the charged person will not be released until he is formally arraigned in Provincial Court.
Original story: The Leamington OPP are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a motor vehicle versus a pedestrian.
At approximately 8:00pm a 54 years old Leamington man was walking north bound on Fox Street, Leamington near Askew Street when he was struck by a north bound Chev Cavalier being driven by a 18-year-old Leamington man, the 54-year-old pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where he died of his injuries sustained at the crash.
The investigation is currently at the initial stages and Leamington OPP have the driver of the Chev Cavalier in custody with pending charges.
No names will be released at this time.
