Wladyslawa Kristine “Kris” Van Bastelaar of Wallaceburg died peacefully at Fairfield Park on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the age of 87.
Kris is the daughter of the late John & Jenniene (Jablonska) Podgurska.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Alphonse in 2011.
Loving mother & mother-in-law of John & June of Port Elgin and Marg & Jack Gurd of Wallaceburg.
Dear grandmother of Kara & Patrick Van Myall, Julie & Steve Swanick, Greg Van Bastelaar & Deanna Harnick, Scott & Kate Gurd, Kelly & Sean Roehrig and 10 great grandchildren.
Survived by her sister Sofia Mazur of Poland.
Kris was a seamstress who loved knitting, playing pepper and euchre, cooking, bowling and dancing.
She was a member of the Wallaceburg Seniors Centre and a 60+ year member of the Catholic Women’s League.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Tuesday.
The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Wednesday, January 14 at 1 PM.
Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
