The lease extension for the Adult Activity Centre in Wallaceburg is temporarily being put on hold.

The item had been on the council agenda at Monday’s (Jan. 12) meeting, but it was pulled, along with all the other items from the routine approvals section.

Judy Smith, the municipal clerk, said the items were being taken out of the agenda in order for the Chatham-Kent legal department to look into them.

The staff report indicated recommendations were being made that the Wallaceburg Senior Citizens Club Inc. have their lease agreement extended for five years with the Municipality.

The report said administration has agreed to the renewal and all of the current terms associated with the lease would be applied in the new agreement.

The busy downtown facility is located at 205 James Street, and offers a wide-variety of activities and programs for adults over the age of 45.
