In a back-and-forth contest, it was the Lakeshore Canadiens who prevailed in Game 1 over the Dresden Kings.
Lakeshore grabbed a 1-0 series lead in their opening round playoff match-up in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League, topping the Dresden Kings 6-5.
Dillon Liberty had a pair of goals for Dresden in the loss, while Wallaceburg’s Jordan Durston, acquired by Dresden late in the year, picked up three assists in the loss.
John Montgomery, Will Tetzlaff and Kevin Ritzer also scored for the Kings.
Daniel Tonietto made 29 saves in a losing effort.
Game 2 goes on Friday night in Dresden.
