A Wallaceburg man set to make his debut on the small screen.

Corey Chainey will be appearing on the History Channel’s show: UFOs Declassified.

“I play Bill Weaver… he was a student when he found some sort of crash while he was driving in the 1960’s,” Chainey said.

The documentary-style series investigates the mysteries behind declassified top secret government files, focusing on UFO sightings and alien encounters.

Chainey said he landed the role by chance, after posting a profile online.

“I got lucky,” he said.

Chainey said he became interested in acting while taking drama at Wallaceburg District Secondary School.

After appearing in a couple of student films during college, Chainey said landing the gig with the History Channel is a good start for his acting career.

“Well, it is a step in the right direction,” he said. “I would have to take a bigger speaking role, to open doors.”

The episode featuring Chainey will air at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. tonight (Friday, February 6), and also on Saturday at 7 p.m.

It was “very fun,” he said about the experience.

“The other cast and crew were very professional.”

Chainey said he will be playing the role of a hitch hiker in a local short film, called J.

The film will be directed by Thamesville filmmaker, Florin Marksteiner.

Filming is slated to begin in late April.
