Handgun allegedly pointed during dispute

A handgun was allegedly pointed at a woman in Wallaceburg after a domestic dispute.

Chatham-Kent police officials said on Feb. 6 a female attended the Chatham-Kent Police substation in Wallaceburg, to report a domestic dispute.

Through investigation, police said it was learned that on February 2, the female and her friend were allegedly threatened by her ex-common law spouse.

Police say when the female attended his address on the Feb. 6 to pick up their child, an argument ensued.

While the female was backing out of the driveway, the accused allegedly went into his shed and reappeared holding what was believed to be a handgun, which he pointed at the victim.

Later in the evening, Chatham-Kent Police located the 32-year-old Wallaceburg man and arrested him for utter threats, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and weapons dangerous.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
