Although the Municipality of Chatham-Kent dog by-law states that all dog tags must be renewed by March 1 to avoid a late fee, the municipality has extended this deadline for this year to March 31.
“We are transitioning into a new computer system and, unfortunately, the invoices have not yet been mailed to all dog owners,” stated Nancy Havens, manager of licensing services. “We expect that they will all be mailed soon.”
The invoice is a reminder to dog owners that their pets must be licensed.
Dog tags can be purchased now at all municipal centres, with or without the invoice, or owners can telephone 519-360-1998 to purchase a dog tag.
