The Chatham-Kent Police Service have seized a quantity of hard drugs in two separate incidents.

Last night, members of the Chatham-Kent Police Intelligence Section, with the assistance of the Critical Incident Response Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant in Chatham as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Approximately $1,200 worth of methamphetamine, oxycodone, hydromorphone, morphine and cannabis marijuana were recovered and seized for analysis.

A set of digital scales, $500 cash, a crossbow and a pellet gun was also seized.

A 31-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is facing several drug and weapons charges.

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Three other men, aged 24, 33, 32 and 35 all from Chatham, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and released with conditions pending a future court date of March 12, 2015.

This morning at around 2 a.m., an officer on routine patrol stopped a vehicle on Harwich Street in Chatham.

Two males exited the vehicle and attempted to discard two baggies of methamphetamine.

Both males were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

During a subsequent search, one of the males was found to have fentanyl on him.

As a result, a 42-year-old Chatham man and 55-year-old Raleigh Township man are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving while disqualified.

The men were released with a future court date of March 12, 2015.
