Police issue fraud warning

police headquarters chatham cops

Yesterday, an elderly Chatham woman reported that on two separate occasions, the same man attended her residence and offered to do exterior home repairs.

The woman declined the offers, however the man completed the work anyway and the woman paid him.

Upon examining the work completed, it was clear that his repairs did not warrant the amount of money she paid him.

Through investigation, police have identified the man and attempts are being made to locate him.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind homeowners that should someone attend your residence to ‘help’ you with home repairs, please do not feel obligated in accepting their offer.
