North Kent Mutual hires new President/CEO

A Dresden insurance company is set to have a new leader at the helm.

The Board of Directors for North Kent Mutual Fire Insurance Company (NKMi) announced the appointment of Henry Miller as President/Chief Executive Officer effective Monday, April 13, 2015.

Miller is currently based in Edmonton and employed in commercial insurance with Wawanesa Insurance.

He previously spent 13 years with the Economical Insurance Group in senior capacities including Regional Personal Lines Manager roles both for Ontario and Western Canada.

Henry was also National Manager, Underwriting Services. He worked for 4 years with Western Union (ING) as a Business Development/Sales Manager and 6 years with Axa Insurance.

Henry is a York University graduate, has a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and is currently enrolled in the Instructor Certification Program.

He is the Past Vice President of the Insurance Institute of Southern Alberta and presently an Instructor with the Insurance Institute of Canada.

“We are delighted to have Henry joining our company. He brings an extensive insurance background both in Ontario and Western Canada. Along with his significant underwriting knowledge and skills he has a strong background with distribution and sales networks,” stated Scott Kilbride, board chair.

Henry, his wife Yvonne and their two children reside in Alberta and previously lived in the small rural community of Burford, ON.

His family enjoys camping, travelling and Henry is a history buff.

The move to hire a new CEO became necessary after current CEO John Leeson announced his retirement.
