The latest wave of new physicians in Chatham-Kent were introduced to the community at council on Monday, including the new physicians in Dresden and Wallaceburg.

Fannie Vavoulis, medical recruiter and education coordinator, made her annual presentation to council.

“I feel like a broken record, but I’m a happy broken record,” she said.

Vavoulis said it was a pleasure to announce the new doctors in Dresden.

“Finally, we have new doctors in Dresden,” she said.

North Kent Coun. Joe Faas commended Vavoulis and her team for their work to bring Dresden’s doctor total up to four for the time-being.

“I know we have one more coming in the fall…. but one is leaving in the spring,” Faas said. “Your work is not done yet.”

A total of 10 new doctors were introduced, including:

– Dr. Imran Ibrahim – Dresden Family Health Team

– Dr. Rizwan Muhammad – Wallaceburg Family Health Team

– Dr. Muhammad Afzal – Wallaceburg Family Health

– Dr. Naveed Hasan – Wallaceburg Family Health Team

– Dr. Glen Providence ‐ CKHA Hospitalist

– Dr. Briana Providence – Dresden Family Health Team

– Dr. Maqsood Ali ‐ Pediatrician

Vavoulis said Chatham-Kent is also welcoming three new resident doctors this year Dr. Paul Ricketts, Dr. Kristin McCulloch, and Dr. Aislinn Pearce.

She said C-K will have continued opportunities with the Schulich School of Medicine as well.
