Throwback Thursday: Wallaceburg Brass BBQ at Mirwin Park

It’s Throwback Thursday once again!

Here is a photo of a Wallaceburg Brass BBQ at Mirwin Park in 1942.

Located on the beautiful Chenal Ecarte and Johnson Channel, family fun saw the use of the swimming pool (or cool Snye), the bicycle track, ball diamonds, the diving tower and wide expanse of green space.

The barbecue pit was a popular spot while cases of Canada Dry ginger ale are ready to be downed at the refreshment center.

Can you name anyone in this picture?

Thank you to Mark Childs and The Black Goose Grill for lending us this great shot before they frame it and hang it up.

Mark tells us it is from Al Mann’s collection.

If you have an old photo that you would like to see on the Sydenham Current, e-mail Dana at dana@sydenhamcurrent.ca.
